I’m working on a series of small canvases. 12” × 16” Starting from some smaller compositions. I prepare the canvas with a modelling paste.
Cast concrete
The next stage of the project has been finished and I will allow this to set for a couple of days before I can move it. It's worked quite well although not perfect and it’s great to see the very fragile broken birds egg surrounded by all that concrete.
Recent work oil paint on paper
Experimenting with oil paint and monochrome using monoprinting techniques on 270gsm paper.
Work in progress
I’ve been making the mould for this new work so that I can begin to cast the concrete. The mould was complex and it should be able to be re-used on another work. Hopefully tomorrow I will be pouring this piece, allowing 24hours for the concrete to set before it can be removed.
New demo
I’ve filmed a video for this latest artwork and will be posting it on the new video webpage once I have completed the editing. The video will be about 30 minutes long and a much shorter edited version will also be posted on the YouTube channel.
Acrylic paint on stretched canvas
I've begun to work on canvas again and I'm hoping to work on some large scale pieces. This canvas is 16” × 12” and the surface has been prepared using a modelling paste which helps to create a smooth surface to work on.
Flat pack exhibition
This is the project I’ve been working on. I’m experimenting with this small scale interior of a gallery exhibition built around a real birds egg and features my own photographs. I will keep updating the progress. Today in the studio was warm and dry while a rain storm raged outside.

New Project
Experimenting with space for a possible future project. Using a small brick sized cardboard box, filmed using light to create the illusion of a gallery. Display using a broken birds egg and a cut up print of my own work.
Making a waterproof perspex box today for the next stage.
Acrylic paint
I've been busy working with both acrylic paint and oil paint on heavyweight 270gsm paper but hope to begin working on a larger scale with canvas and wooden panels. I will post daily studio updates on this blog.

I've had a break but I've recently started to explore some monoprinting techniques working with a acrylic paint. I’m enjoying spending some time being creative after a difficult few weeks following some sad family news.
I have now finally closed my X (formally Twitter) account but you will find me on Threads and Bluesky platforms.
Youtube hasn't really been working for sometime so I have now created a new videos page on my website. I will begin to post demos and you will be able to view them free from adverts and the distraction of other videos.
Studio work in progress
Enjoying spending time in the studio and working on new pieces. Filming the demo videos for the YouTube channel and hopefully I will soon begin to update the website. Artwork from the demo videos will also be available.

Back in the studio
I’ve struggled to get back to working on new projects for a while and I’m now beginning to experiment with artwork again. This is a slow process but just making marks is a good way to start. I've also decided to begin posting videos on my YouTube channel again. The YouTube videos will be filmed as I work in the studio, not instructional or how to demos but more like calm reflections that may inspire others to do the same. I will repeat familiar techniques but once I’ve got used to filming again I will develop new ideas to explore. Thanks for your support.

New video
I've been adding new content to the YouTube members page of the website. I would like to thank all those who have joined the channel, it is really good to receive the support and interest. I have included lots of new photos of work in progress and studio insights that go behind the scenes of new videos. Next week I will begin to film some of the exclusive content that will only be available for YouTube members. The last video was an exploration of chalk markers on black primed stretched canvas, this video is available to all and ready to watch on the YouTube channel.
New page
I've created a new page for YouTube members. This will have more work in progress photos and details about the exclusive videos. I will also post the YouTube videos on this page. This new wepage is password protected and will only be available to those who have signed up for YouTube membership.
YouTube membership
I've decided to offer membership to the channel, this will include exclusive videos and content not available on the main channel, behind the scenes photos, art FREE giveaways etc. First 10 memberships will receive one of these monoprints. The next video I post will be for members only. Sorry to have to let people down by charging for content but I'm struggling to keep this channel going as it is and I really enjoy the process of making videos and sharing techniques, hopefully this may work and I can continue to offer FREE content as well as exclusive videos.
Cutting templates
I've not shown this process in the recent video but I just wanted to show how the idea developed from simple sketches. I wanted each of the panels to be slightly familiar, sort of humanoid figures, abstract head and shoulders. I like how they look as a group maybe a little unsettling. In the photos here you can see how I developed them, keeping them simple.
New demo
After a difficult few weeks, I’m trying to get back to work in the studio. I’m still experimenting with spay paint and I’m working on this new multi panel artwork. I will film a new demo video today.
